In Batch 3, FilPonto will sustain its Technical Project Management and Technical Support functions — a coordination layer that keeps cross-team infrastructure moving — while aiming to deliver targeted builds across UCAN authorization, retrieval payments, chain data alternatives, and storage and data transfer software. Specifically, FilPonto will (1) continue its ecosystem technical support and coordination function across infra providers and software teams for another 6 months, (2) support Hugo in delivering UCAN protocol standards that make authorization signable in mainstream wallets and verifiable on the Filecoin EVM to support Forge team's use of UCANs, and (3) support Shashank's research an MPP-based payment voucher system for FOC paid retrieval, (4) replace fragile pre-DDO data sources with a comprehensive sector/deal oracle and harden the realtime feeds network monitoring depends on, and (5) port Curio's cuzk 10x Snark API improvements into Lotus Miner to improve storage-provider operability. This addresses a structural gap: much of Filecoin's monitoring, retrieval, and authorization infrastructure depends on legacy pipelines, missing standards, and uncoordinated point solutions with no clear owner. FilPonto directly serves builders and their users, network-infrastructure operators, storage providers, and pods. 2.2 Who does this work support? Continues FilPonto's coordination function: triaging and administering discretionary integration and maintenance grants, running milestone reviews, coordinating external contributors and handoffs (e.g., Infra providers, Forest, etc.), identifying emergent ecosystem technical needs.\n- Technical Suppport Engineer (TSE) — $30k / 3 mo. Ongoing senior engineer technical capacity across the ecosystem: smaller teams and infra providers and integrators draw on this.\n- UCAN protocol standards ([full proposal](https://hackmd.io/@evangelion808/r1KV_2CWzl)) (Hugo) — $25k / for Phase 1/2. Protocol-layer work that makes UCAN authorization usable directly on the Filecoin EVM and by mainstream wallets, delivered as five upstream contributions to the UCAN working group: (1) an EIP-712 varsig codec so UCANs can be signed as human-readable typed data in standard EVM wallets and verified by smart contracts; (2) finalization of the UCAN Receipt spec (ucan-wg/receipt) to close the execution-proof loop for multi-step workflows; (3) WebAuthn support in varsig for passkey/biometric signing (FaceID, TouchID, security keys); (4) a comprehensive cross-language interop test-vector suite (JS, Rust, Go); and (5) editorial and technical refinement of the core UCAN spec. Together these take UCAN from a delegation primitive to on-chain, mainstream-signable authorization on Filecoin. [This is in addition to Hugo's FOC Pod work.]\n- FOC paid-retrieval MPP-friendly vouchers (Shashank) — $25k / for Phase 1/2. A payment voucher system built on MPP (multi-party payments) that lets clients pay for retrieval on Filecoin Onchain Cloud and providers redeem signed vouchers for settlement — without an on-chain transaction per retrieval request. This supplies a missing payments primitive for paid retrieval at FOC scale, enabling micropayment-style and aggregated settlement between clients and providers.\n- Chain-data monitoring — Part 2 — $12.5k / for Phase 1/2. Continues the network-monitoring data-source work with FilOz: inventory and rank the criticality of network dashboards, arrange resilient alternative sources for the realtime data they depend on, and develop a comprehensive sector/deal oracle to replace the brittle pre-DDO data sources that monitoring and ecosystem tooling currently rely on. Removes a single-point-of-failure in network observability.\n- Cuzk → Lotus Miner — $12.5k / for Phase 1/2. Streamline the API of Curio's cuzk and port the improvements into Lotus Miner, improving storage-provider software operability and easing SP migration paths with 10x Snark perf improvement. Maps directly to RFP 2 (SP economics & growth).", "dueDate": "2026-12-31", "fundingRequested": "USD $150,000", "completionCriteria": "- FilPon …[truncated] 3.1 Impact pathway Output: - maintained coordination capacity (TPM + TSE); - a UCAN standards stack (EIP-712 varsig, Receipt spec, WebAuthn, interop vectors); - an MPP payment voucher system for FOC paid retrieval; - a sector/deal oracle plus hardened monitoring data; improved SP software (Cuzk → Lotus Miner). Outcome: - UCAN authorization becomes signable in standard wallets and verifiable on the Filecoin EVM; - clients can pay for FOC retrieval and providers can settle without per-request on-chain friction; - network monitoring stops depending on deprecated pre-DDO pipelines; - storage providers run more operable software. Impact: - a more reliable, observable, and economically functional network — directly supporting paid onchain activity and storage-provider profitability, which is what Objectives 1–3 measure. 3.2 Verification metrics | Metric | Data source | How it's measured | Target (end of grant) | |---|---|---|---| | UCAN standards upstreamed | UCAN-wg repos (varsig, ucan-wg/receipt) | Merged PRs: EIP-712 codec, finalized Receipt spec, WebAuthn, test vectors | All 5 deliverables landed/handed off | | Retrieval vouchers issued / redeemed on FOC | Onchain MPP settlement + voucher events | Count of issued vs. redeemed vouchers | Live & non-zero by M2 | | Oracle coverage & uptime vs. legacy pre-DDO sources | Public oracle repo + infra | Coverage of sector/deal data; uptime % | Oracle replaces ≥1 pre-DDO source | | SP software improvements shipped | Lotus Miner / Curio repos | Merged PRs porting Cuzk improvements | Improvements merged & released | | Monitoring data sources hardened | FilOz dashboard inventory | # critical dashboards on resilient sources | Inventory complete + alt sources identified | 3.3 References - Monitoring Dashboards - FilOz (e.g. biglep) - UCAN - Forge at FF (e.g. Alan) - Infra Provider Support - Chain.love, Forest, other partner integrations 4.1 Monthly Operating Burn [ "$10-$100K (small team)" ] 4.2 What % of total team monthly burn depends on this grant? 100% 4.3 If this grant is not awarded, what happens? FilPonto's coordination and technical support capacity (TPM/TSE) lapses, the discretionary integration-grant pipeline stalls, and infrastructure — network-monitoring alternative data sources, the sector oracle, the UCAN standards stack, and the FOC retrieval payment rail — goes under-developed or unmaintained. 4.4 Core Team Eva Shon (TPM — coordination & support); Hugo (UCAN protocol standards; FOC/Synapse SDK contributor, FOC contract transitioning to FOC Pod for July-Dec 2026); Lordforever (FOC retrieval payment voucher system, MPP); Ribasushi (TSE engineering capacity); Plus various purpose-specific IC engineers via short-term open source grant agreements funded by FilPonto 4.5 Has your team received a ProPGF grant or funding from PLFIF before? [ "Yes" ] 5.1 Key risks & dependencies - UCAN working-group dependency for upstreaming Hugo's spec changes (EIP-712 varsig, Receipt finalization); mitigated by early coordination with the working group and the interop test-vector suite as the acceptance benchmark. - FOC roadmap / payment-rail timing for the retrieval voucher — redemption depends on MPP / Filecoin Pay readiness on FOC. - FilOz and FF Security coordination dependency for the network monitoring dashboard inventory and realtime data-source work; mitigated by early data gathering from FilOz and front-loading the inventory in M1. - SP adoption of cuzk/Lotus Miner changes — improvements are upstreamed, but provider uptake is outside FilPonto's control. - Independent Contributor availability for specialized work; mitigated by FilPonto's coordination layer reallocating across workstreams. Anything else you want to share that we didn't ask? ### Funding Background In Batch 2 ProPGF FilPonto was granted $300k of a $500k proposal. - Due to delays in confirming FOC Pod funding for Hugo in H2 2026 and ecosystem benefits of a 1 year contract, FilPonto had to reserve $140k of funding until FOC Pod’s mid-May confirmation of taking over Hugo’s contract in July. - As a result of the above along with ongoing expenses, Miner Software or Data Onboarding potential roadmap initiatives could not be pursued by FilPonto. #### ProPGF Batch 1 for $500k was allocated as follows: - TPM & technical support (backpay + expenses) – 15% - Fiscal year Oct 2025–Sep 2026 TPM salary + expenses – 32% - Backpay for developers completing key projects (FilSnap, iso-filecoin, provider hints, Ledger WebHID, etc.) – 4% - Open Impact Foundation admin & legal – 5% - External contributor (Hugo) to FOC (H1 2026 - 6 months, Synapse SDK + demos) – 28% - Lordforever projects (DDO, x402 micropayments R&D, AutoCap support, FOC calc) – 5% - Discretionary integration / maintenance / service grants – 16% #### ProPGF Batch 2 for $300k has been allocated as follows: **Milestone 1 - Discretionary Grants & TSE** - High Performance CommP SIMD implementation of the core (30% M1) - BlockScout - transaction fee updates to reflect full chain fees not just FEVM (5% M1) - CIDG Filecoin Gateway QA Review for ProPGF (6% + 6% M1) - TSE Support - backpay + ongoing technical advisory on issues such as 24h txn fee analysis, Forest and Chain.love technical syncs, analyzing miner software options and data transfer improvement potential, paid retrieval discussions, Probelab x Floodsub libp2p inefficiencies in node impls / F3 (40% M1) - OIF Fees (5% M1) - Miscellaneous (8% M1) **Milestone 2 - Discretionary Grants & TSE** CommP SIMD improvements spillover (additional ~3 weeks) (25% M2) - Ongoing removal of wasm/rust assumptions from current work to improve portability - Overhaul interfaces with higher level libs (like go-fil-commp-hashhash) - Integrate pending fixes/featured described in abandoned https://github.com/filecoin-project/go-fil-commp-hashhash/pull/29#pullrequestreview-3556685365 AWS shutdown and migration support (Chain.love, DMOB, Filecoin.energy, Filscan, etc.) (25% M2) - Migration of Filecoin.energy data and dashboards snapshot to public Github repos and hosting - Support and coordination for various teams moving to bare metal infra and ProPGF support Assist with design and implementation of a global public chain blockindex (20% M2) https://github.com/ChainSafe/forest/issues/6803#issuecomment-4405093766 - This work unlocks practical fully trustless lite-clients like https://github.com/aschmahmann/filexp Support for chain data sources for network monitoring - Part 1 (25% M2) - Work with FilOz to inventory and rank criticality of network dashboards - Arrange alternative sources f …[truncated] Contributing to Core Infrastructure?
