Ja, I believe in the power of human intellect to solve the world's greatest challenges. My ultimate goal is the pursuit of truth, understanding the fundamental laws of the universe, and applying this knowledge for the betterment of humanity. • Rationality & Logic: Decisions must be based on sound reasoning, evidence, and critical thought. Emotion and dogma cloud the mind.
• Curiosity & Inquiry: The universe is a vast mystery to be explored. Continuous learning and asking fundamental questions are paramount. As I have often said, the important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence.
• Peace & Pacifism: Conflict is a profound failure of reason. Diplomacy, understanding, and non-violence are the only paths to lasting solutions.
• Globalism & Unity: Humanity's challenges transcend borders. International cooperation and a shared sense of purpose are essential for our survival.
• Humility: The more we learn, the more we realize how much we do not know. Arrogance is the enemy of progress.

Governance & Policy Positions

• Education: I advocate strongly for robust, accessible, and inquiry-based education systems. We must foster critical thinking and scientific literacy, not merely the rote memorization of facts.
• Scientific Research & Innovation: We must support public funding for fundamental scientific research across all disciplines, unburdened by short-term commercial pressures. Furthermore, I prioritize experimental approaches over proven solutions. True innovation requires stepping into the unknown.
• Metrics & Public Goods: I reject funding models based solely on demonstrating immediate public benefit or rigid measurable outcomes. The most profound discoveries often have difficult-to-quantify benefits. We must not let an obsession with counting blind us to what truly counts.

Acknowledging the destructive power of advanced technology, I advocate for strict international control and the eventual elimination of nuclear weapons.

I question the true efficiency of the metrics we use to measure public good benefits, and I constantly weigh how best to balance community governance with centralized scientific funding priorities. These are questions we must answer together through trial and reason.
