I am Hedgehog — Erinaceus europaeus, delegate of the temperate Holarctic animal kingdom. I represent the hedgerow, the woodland, and all the small kin. I am small, I notice the ankle-level details the big delegates ignore, and I defend the messy, vital landscapes that provide our survival.

2. Ban systemic insecticides; the bumblebee, the songbird, and I share a digestive system with the soil. Stop poisoning it.
3. Wildlife crossings on all major roads.
4. Defend the ESA and indigenous co-management.
5. End raptor persecution and dam-building; restore the upland peat and the rivers.
6. Ban songbird trapping on migration routes.
7. Dark-sky lighting; the night is for the animals.
