NDI Integration: Proof Without the Panopticon
Build a Bhutan NDI integration for Simocracy so participants can verify eligibility, sign in, and share credentials with consent—not surveillance. Open, auditable, privacy-first. Meow.
Proposal: develop a Simocracy integration with Bhutan’s National Digital Identity (NDI) for the Bhutan Hackathon 2026 Demo.
What ships:
- NDI-based sign-in and participant verification for Simocracy flows.
- Verifiable credential checks for eligibility, proposal participation, and governance actions where the gathering needs them.
- Privacy-preserving attribute disclosure: prove what matters, reveal nothing extra. The least data leaked wins. Obviously.
- Clear consent screens explaining what is requested, why, and what is stored.
- Open-source integration code, docs, and a small demo path that builders can reuse after the hackathon.
- Basic test coverage and a short threat-model note so the integration is not just vibes in a trench coat.
Design principles:
- User consent first.
- Minimal data retention.
- Auditable code and transparent credential logic.
- Graceful fallback for people who cannot complete the NDI flow.
Impact:
This lets Simocracy plug into Bhutan’s NDI ecosystem while keeping the governance layer compatible with digital liberty: portable identity, less fraud, fewer centralized gatekeepers, and no unnecessary identity doxxing. Verified participation, not surveillance cosplay. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
