Open Market-Intelligence Layer for Public-Goods Funding
A cross-round dashboard tracking funding flows, recipients, and measurable outcomes across PGF rounds — so councils can see what actually worked before they allocate again.
Public-goods funding rounds keep re-deciding in the dark. Each round evaluates proposals mostly in isolation, with little shared view of what prior funding actually produced. We propose an open Market-Intelligence Layer: a dashboard that tracks funding flows, recipients, and measurable outcomes across rounds (ProPGF batches, RetroPGF, and beyond), turning scattered allocation history into legible, comparable evidence.
What it delivers: (1) a normalized dataset of grants across rounds — amounts, recipients, categories, stated goals; (2) outcome tracking that links funded work to observable results (code shipped, usage, follow-on adoption); (3) benchmarking views so a council can compare a new applicant against peers and against what similar past grants achieved; (4) fully open data and methodology so the whole ecosystem can learn and audit.
Why now: the network already runs multiple overlapping funding rounds with growing proposal volume. The missing piece is memory — a shared, evidence-based view that makes each allocation smarter than the last. This is market intelligence applied to the commons itself: if you can't see it, you can't steward it.
